JKKP - MCVTA Meeting

Updated: Mar 4

On 10th February, MCVTA had a meeting at Putrajaya with the Deputy Director-General (Occupational Safety) of Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (JKKP), Encik Bahrudin Bin Mamat and the team.

After a brief introduction of the team at MCVTA, the team highlighted the concerns faced by the members and the commercial vehicle industry, particularly the delays in the processing and conduct of PMA inspections, which can take anywhere from 1 to 2 months. Such prolonged processing time not only affects the business process but also has a significant impact on business owners.

JKKP provided their suggestions on ways to improve the application processes, where they can be enhanced and shortened. They also suggested that MCVTA can bring up these issues and propose to JPJ (PUSPAKOM) for their help to streamline some of the processes.

They also proposed to provide training to dealers, associations, and owners on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations and the application processes, potentially involving JPJ, PUSPAKOM, or APAD for a joint training.

MCVTA reaffirmed our commitment to the proposed joint collaboration, aimed at facilitating and enhancing the PMA Inspection processes. We appreciate JKKP's consideration of this initiative and look forward to further discussions on its implementation.
